Today, my student teacher taught a very interesting small group in science. The concept was exploring the melting of ice. She used pretzel salt, rock salt, and pet safe de icer tabs, along with food coloring to have the students melt the ice. The lesson used numerous items to focus the students on all different skills; such as, fine motor using tweezers and pipettes. The students were allowed to observe and provide descriptions of what they saw using magnifying glasses. I will upload the video in CGMTube please check it out and let me know if you have any questions. Have FUN!

I watched a great documentary on the Pena Blanco Region of Guatemala, called "Living on One Dollar". I highly recommend it to all to see. It really puts everything in perspective in the United States.
